Rasmus is a 12-year-old right-handed pitcher from Phenix City, Alabama. She struck out eight batters across six shutout innings in her LLWS debut. Her eight strikeouts tied the record for most by a girl in series history. Mo’ne Davis previously set that record during her historic 2014 run.
Rasmus threw 81 pitches before her pitch count forced her to be removed. Under LLWS rules, she needs four rest days before her next start. She becomes eligible to pitch again on Sunday, August 23.
